By Paula Anaya and Juan Manuel Correa | EDUCATING RURAL CHILDREN
Thanks to our donors, in México, Canada and USA. Our mini project has obtained 93% of our first stage goal of $7,500.00 USD, to furnish a new classroom and pay part time teachers providing supplementary education to children, teenagers and adults near San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
We have redesigned the computer lab (26 PC and laptops) that is helping in our goal to reduce the digital goal in education by:
- Developing digital skills in students.
- Fostering critical thinking.
- Providing access to digital education content with didactic and technical support of expert tutors.
Thanks to these donations we are paying salaries of part time teachers and tutors. In the last month Paola, Adolfo, Eliod Maximiliano and Marco, who could not attend to regular school, graduated in middle school with our program. In total, now 65 students are benefiting form the after-school programs of our Education Center.
The community has many more children and young people that need external help to increase quality of education. Our two year goal is to reach, and help 250 students. This Foundation will continue looking for generous donors, to consolidate and extend the education programs. (foto)
We will need to buy 20 additional computers and hire a full time teacher, able to use the new technologies.
