EBZEF Project Update #10

Visaka graduated from Lusaka Apex Medical University on September 29th with a degree in Human Biology. “My degree is in medicine and surgery. It takes 7 years of study. In 5th year I graduated with a degree in human biology from pre-clinical classes to clinical classes. At the end of 7 years I will graduate with a degree in medicine and surgery as a general human doctor.” Congratulations, Visaka!

The EBZEF scholarship program has matured beyond secondary school into college/vocational school. As Beth’s Girls realizethe possibilities of education, they elect to continue studies in their chosen fields such as teaching, nursing, medicine, pharmacy, electrical engineering, metal fabrication, catering, public administration, sustainable natural resources management, and more. Beth’s Ladies are literally changing their world through education. How exciting to be part of such a paradigm shift!

EBZEF-supported construction continues apace in Lumwana West. The Science Lab roof is nearly restored. The plumbing and gas systems are now complete. Replastering and painting are to follow. The newly constructed Pre-School chota(cook house) is ready for use. Additionally, we’ve just received a grant to build a much-needed lavatory for the Pre-School! Our next projects include seeking funds for Science Lab supplies and solar panels.
