The Lumwana West Early Childhood Development Program is thriving, with 103 girls and boys ages 3-6 enrolled in 2024. Since initiating the Pre-School program in 2011, EBZEF has supported the construction of three classrooms, providing both furniture and supplies. In addition, EBZEF has facilitated the construction of a water-based lavatory for improved sanitation. We are also funding the Food Project, which supplies breakfast and lunch for learners who might otherwise have little to eat. Without nutrition, there is no education. The Garden Project is currently on hold due to extreme drought.
The new Njolomba Science Centre is up and running, fully equipped with EBZEF-funded lab stools, equipment, supplies, solar power, and fresh water. The final project, currently in progress, involves local craftsmen building locking cabinets to protect the new equipment and supplies. The Lumwana West community provides a night watchman for the Secondary School to ensure security.
We are so proud of Beth’s Girls/Ladies as they establish significant professional profiles for their families, their community, and their country! Their career studies range from teaching, nursing, and catering to surgery, medicine, pharmacy, electrical work, natural resources management, public administration, and more. Your support and encouragement of EBZEF’s programs means more than you know on both sides of the world! Thank you!
