More from the ground. 100% of rations have safely reached. We are grateful to so many, including Chief Secretary Sindh Pakistan for the safety protocols.
After waking up after brief sleep, while the trucks were being unloaded and thereafter sorted, went out to explore the city, or at least some of the drier areas as it had now been 10 days since the worst of the floods and there were pockets of dry areas where families had been set up in make-shift tents.
Never been so humbled in my life. While we are so blessed and can feel sad or victimized due to any life obstacle or hiccup, here these families were gracious, kind, hospitable (inviting us for tea), and even smiling, despite having lost almost everything but each other.
They did not know where their next meal would come from or if they would get dengue, malaria, COVID-19, skin tissue disease or any other common ailment, but they were grateful to be alive and so happy to meet us, complete strangers.
Such incredible and wonderful, warm human beings.
