Since 2nd November, 2020, the Rwandan government has allowed schools to resume their activities after more than 7 months of interruption due to the health situation due to Covid-19 that the world is currently experiencing. Only students from P4, P5,P6 were allowed to start classes in November. It was an experimental re-entry in the sense that its success would allow the return of students from other levels, namely those P1, P2, P3 primary and nursery section.
On Monday, November 2 we had 56 students in total, showed up, ready to face this special continuation of the school year. With students, teachers and support staff a number of 7 was reached on this first day The health barrier measures established to contain the spread of COVID 19 by the Ministry of Health were scrupulously observed: compulsory wearing of masks, regular hand washing with soap, greeting without shaking hands, avoiding hugs, observing “social distancing”, i.e. a distance of 1 meter between people, temperature measurement at the entrance to the school, then after on 18th January we had 159 students in total also showed up and were also ready to continue lessons also following measures put in place by the ministry of health, now Turereneza has a total number of 215 students and a total of 14 staff members.now students are following lessons accordingly due to the support from Centre Turereneza Ltd and our donors.
According to the last report that we sent in October 2020,the rehabillitation and increasing equipments the work is finished for 6 Classrooms, Library and computer room, you can find the progress report on the attachment photos.we are having a good well equipped rooms compared to the recent ones, the work will be ongoing as we continue getting financial support.
This project of Centre Turereneza continues to show that it has a big impact to the children and the community in general.
