Educating for Wellbeing

Measuring, understanding and managing the impact of Educating for Wellbeing is a high priority at Atentamente. Our efforts in providing a strengths-based approach to developing young students’ emotional intelligence, resiliency and pro-social skills are being evaluated as part of the largest impact evaluation in the world for a professional training program in social-emotional education. This study is being done in collaboration with the Center for Healthy Minds of the University of Wisconsin and the Secretary of Public Education and Culture of the State of Sinaloa. We are looking forward to sharing some preliminary results with our donors as the program progresses!

To give you a better idea of the scope of the program, the initiative began in 2020 with the training of 180 education professionals from the Ministry of Public Education. Now more than 9,200 directors and preschool teachers from the states of Coahuila, Sinaloa, Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo have completed the program. These educators will go on to facilitate social emotional learning to over 50,000 girls and boys in public schools.
