"I am grateful to the Camp for Peace Family and partners who have provided the grant to this project. Due to this project, we are beginning to transformation in our community. We are beginning to see our youths changing the narrative of our community through the local-driven economic program. Through this program, our youths have gained additional respect that can be leveraged for the more remarkable development of our community. The way people look down upon our youths no more – they are beginning to respect them due to the knowledge and skills that have given the status. With these new programs being added to include women, I see the shift from desperation to economic stability and freedom. I see our district serving as a role model for the rest of the country" (Ben).

As part of its 2022 Vocational Program, Camp for Peace Liberia has added two additional training vocation to include women empowerment in sewing/tailoring and weaving. This initiative will run alongside the Camp for Peace Agriculture Training Program for the youth.

The program was formally launched at the Farmer Resource Center in Salayea, Lofa Country, under review. Initially, this program took in 50 participants, 15 for sewing and 15 for weaving, and 20 for agriculture, but to the excitement and zeal of the participants to acquire skills, it has enrolled 75 youths and women. It is expected to run for 9 months to qualify participants for graduation.

We want to thank our partners for this great assistance rendered to the Liberian people through Camp for Peace Liberia. To all of you whose financial and moral support and motivation continue to empower and heal broken wounds in Liberia. Thanks to our hard-working staff and volunteers for ensuring that empowerment takes a center seat in rural Liberia.
