Project Report | Jan 6, 2021
First update

By Bianca Moura | Executive Director

The first "escuelita" or little school for at risk for HD children was initiated in November for 12 kids in Barranquitas, Venezuela, providing early literacy, numeracy and critical thinking skills. None of these kids had an ability to read or write which was made worse by the school closures. All the kids live in extreme poverty.

The educational intervention project consists of daily  (Monday-Friday) personalized and interactive classes for 4 hours along with a nutritious breakfast. It paused for the holidays and resumed on January 4, 2021.

Alliances are being formed with local educational partners in order to expand similar activities in the vulnerable communities of Maracaibo, Venezuela and the Atlantic coast of Colombia.
