2016 has got off to a slow start for us here at Mmakadi Creche. Unfortunately, we have been without a working vehicle here at GVI, so there is no safe way to be able to transport the volunteers to and from the crèche.
This doesn't mean that we haven't visited the creche at all, it just means that we have been unable to take all of the volunteers there. So while the volunteers have been unable to attend, the staff were able to make a few trips out to the creche to do bits and bobs.
In one of our trips we installed some more support beams on the jungle gym and managed to varnish the entire structure. Thanks to your donations, last year, we built a jungle gym for the children. They have absolutely loved it, even though it wasn't 100% completed, and we are glad that we could finally put these finishing touches on it before the year really kicks off again.
We have also been able to purchase a slippery slide, which is going to be a fun new addition to the play area. We can't wait to see the children's excited faces when we go and install it! That is due to happen in the next few weeks.
It is wonderful to see the children playing, and it is all thanks to your amazing donations. So thank you!
