Since 2003, JEN has started supporting activities based in Baghdad, the capital c of Iraq. In the same year, educational support began as part of reconstruction project. Since 2009, we expanded the coverage area from Kirkuk in the north to the Anbar in the east, and rehabilitated the school buildings in 251 schools in 6 prefectures so far.
As the unstable social situation continues since the Iraq war, people have sent anxious everyday. Children are particularly one of the most vulnerable. So JEN has been working to rehabilitate the demolished school and regain the habit of going back to school in order to secure a place for children. So far, not only 251 schools, 131,621 children are able to attend school but also contributed to build the capacity of the teachers and the Ministry of Education in Iraq. The parents also regained sanitary and secure life in their homes. In March of 2018, JEN completed this project which could last 15 years. Thank you very much for your warm support from everyone.
