To our supporters,
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has led to a profound humanitarian crisis, with millions of individuals affected by displacement, loss of livelihoods, and limited access to essential services. Through our extensive network of projects, community members, and partners on the ground, we have been actively providing critical support to those living in war-affected zones.
As of early 2025, the United Nations estimates that approximately 12.7 million people in Ukraine require humanitarian assistance. The conflict has resulted in over 6 million refugees and nearly 4 million internally displaced persons, including close to 1 million children. Prolonged displacement has pushed many to the brink, depleting their resources and capacity to cope with the loss of jobs or income. The severity of the situation is particularly acute in the eastern and southern regions, close to the front lines, where over 3.3 million people are in dire need of aid. In these areas, civilians struggle daily to access water, food, healthcare, housing, protection, and other essential services. Humanitarian access to territories under Russian occupation remains extremely limited, further exacerbating the crisis.
In collaboration with the global Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, we have been at the forefront of delivering lifesaving aid to affected populations. Key initiatives include:
1.Medical Assistance: Operating medical stations at borders, deploying mobile health teams within Ukraine, and establishing first aid posts in surrounding countries to ensure immediate healthcare services are accessible to those in need.
2.Mental Health Support: Recognizing the psychological toll of the conflict, we have provided over 4,300 psychosocial activities aimed at reducing stress and increasing community resilience, particularly in regions like the Cherkasy Oblast.
3.Cash and Voucher Assistance: Implementing one of the largest cash assistance programs in our history, we have enabled individuals and families to procure essential items such as shelter materials, food, and emergency supplies, thereby restoring a degree of autonomy and dignity.
4.Evacuation Support: Facilitating the safe evacuation of vulnerable populations, including those with limited mobility and large families, from high-risk areas to safer locations.
5.Infrastructure Rehabilitation: Providing building materials and financial assistance to help households carry out urgent repairs on homes damaged due to the conflict, ensuring safer living conditions.
