Lebanon is facing one of the most dangerous crises in its history. Over one million people have been displaced in the last month, and children and young people are among those most affected. In response, Global Fund for Children has launched an Emergency Response Fund to provide urgent support to our partners on the ground.
Since 2005, GFC has partnered with local organizations in Lebanon to help children and families. Today, our community-based partners are directly impacted by the ongoing war between Israel and Hezbollah. We stand in solidarity with them, supporting their efforts to meet the needs of their community. The people of Lebanon are in urgent need of aid, including food, hygiene supplies, blankets, mattresses, pillows, medical supplies, and other essential items.
GFC is in contact with our two partners in Beirut who have confirmed that they are directly affected by and responding to the impact of the current war between Israel and Hezbollah - supporting children, young people, and their families through the crisis. They are working to help families in need through community-based holistic support, with a particular focus on marginalized communities.
In response to the increasingly dire situation, GFC will continue to support the urgent and emergent needs of these two partners. GFC's flexible cash funding allows them to remain nimble, ensuring that they can meet the changing needs of children and young people.
