This summer Ayeish began to test our first approach to connecting with Congressmembers. Trusted contacts of Ayeish with long-standing relationships with Congressmembers recommended Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congressmembers Seth Moulton (MA) and Tim Ryan (OH) as individuals who indeed have integrity in addition to their celebrity public personas. After some feedback from external viewers, we have decided that this particular approach to personalized videos, which we inteded to include in email meeting requests following phone-calls, is unlikely to achieve the connection we seek with Congressmembers. However, you can view some our test videos in various states of production here, here, and here, responding to real clips from Senator Warren and Rep. Moulton on banking and foreign relations.
Due to Ayeish presence in Istanbul this month to work on a Syrian-led peace process (read more in our newsletter or email us with questions), we have adjusted our Congressional strategy accordingly. This month we are testing a phone and video-conference -based outreach strategy instead of one that focuses on in-person connection. In the last week we reached out to Representatives Moulton and Ryans' offices by phone, leveraging mention of our Syria work to connect around the North Korea crisis. We similarly reached out to the Republican-led Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Committee (Bob Corker) and an Administration foreign affairs office. We are analyzing results and those interactions now and look forward to sharing with you as our learning and relationships develop.
