Dear Friends,
The centers opened by SHD Pakistan in 3 villages (Jaffa colony, Hanif Coloy and Qadirabad) of District Toba Tek Singh are running successfully. The girls from the village are very happy and have been able to learn several knitting ,stitching and embroidary skills . Most of the girls and women enrolled in these sewing centers are extremely poor and they either work as house maids or belong to the families of domestic servants.
The total 75 girls and women are enrolled in Sewing Centers. Many more girls and women has recetly joined the centers after a good word of mouth. Thanks to a donation of USD 1174 through GlobalGiving, the centers have been established and are running successfully.
Donations permitting, the Society for Human Development will open more sewing centers and purchase more sewing macines to train more girls and women. Unfortunately,There has been a technical issue faced by SHD, which has delayed the process of equiping the sewing center with more machines. The issue will be resolved in the coming week and the centers will be provided with more machines.
Overall, the beneficiaries are very happy that they soon will start earning after passing out from the center. The dedicated team of SHD is checking the centers quite regularly. We request all our friends and supporters to keep supporting the project.
