Thank you for your generous support during our fundraising campaign in December and to all those who have donated since! We have currently raised nearly $5,000 so far – a substantial amount that goes a long way in supporting our youngest.
So how does your support help? Yehansa’s story is a perfect example.
Yehansa came to us when she was just 3 months old, due to severe family difficulties. Yehansa was born with Down Syndrome and as a young baby, regardless of her disability, needed lots of special care.
Pushpa, one of our most experienced carers, took special care of her and continues to do so. Now at over 6 months old, Yehansa is thriving. Babies with Down Syndrome often have low muscle tone but Yehansa has not let this hamper her development. Yehansa rolls and commando crawls and has good head control. She is also very alert and enjoys spending time with her carers. She is also learning to hold her bottle and loves listening to nursery rhymes.
As she gets older, Yehansa will have specialist support from our therapy team to support in the development of important skills. For the moment, she is a calm, happy baby who is very much at home with us.
We are delighted that we now have 8 donors who have set up monthly donations. This means that we can continue to raise funds throughout the year for this vital support.
You can set up a recurring donation here – please do share the link with others who might like to support us:
Also, please don’t forget if you are a UK tax payer, you can select to claim Gift Aid and GlobalGiving will process this on our behalf.
Thank you once again for your invaluable support and all the best for 2020!
