Field trips serve one vital function as far as education is concerned. They link the classroom experience with the outside world. In doing so, they improve learning and give both the learner and educator valued practical experience. Keeping this aim in mind, Khadija Girls College organized field trips for its students to the State Bank's Museum & Art Gallery and Quaid-e-Azam House.
STATE BANK MUSEUM
The trip to the State Bank of Pakistan Museum allowed our young students to learn about SBP's history, money and coins, monetary policy and its evolving role over time. The connected art gallery showcased the valuable work of legendary Pakistani artists like Sadequain and Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq. The SPB Museum staff gave a detailed tour and held an interactive session with the students about the displayed collection of coins, money, stamps and historical photographs. At the end of the tour, students shopped around the Souvenir shop buying small items depicting the local craftsmanship.
THE FLAGSTAFF HOUSE
The Quaid-e-Azam House, also known as the Flagstaff House, is a museum dedicated to the personal life of Mr Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation. Our students were mesmerized to experience the frozen history inside the glistering yellow stones building. Students got to learn about the lifestyle of life of our beloved Quaid. The Flagstaff House displayed the furniture, dresses, crockery, pictures, books and cars used by Mr Jinnah. The tour guide Mr Rashid gave students an extensive round of the building while informing them about the historical importance of the architectural masterpiece.
A total of around 100 students visited the SBP Museum and Flagstaff House in three different groups along with 10 teachers. Enthused students took selfies outside the museums. At the end of each visit, students were served refreshments and juice. Both the trips were informative experience for the students of Khadija Girls college.
