Hello all, here’s a quick project update as we enter into the close of 2021
Mirame has offered pro-bono project consulting to a new initiative focused on offering menstrual education to young women in marginalized communities. Mirame looks forward to seeing this initiative come together over the next year, and hopes to financially sponsor materials for these educational classes. The curriculum is still being designed, and it integrates a variety of resources for menstrual care, including but not limited to: plants women can grow in their home, or find locally, to treat conditions that arise throughout a women’s menstrual cycle, hygiene products and how to use them or create them at home, and supplementary education on women’s cycles from local traditions and native archetypes.
Likewise, Mirame is moving forward with the Danza Primordial workshop outlined in the previous report. Due to family health concerns I attended over the summer months, planning for the workshop was interrupted. Come October, I look forward to leading this project again with great commitment and bravado, starting with the return of self-care and personal empowerment workshops for women leaders.
The close of 2021 promises to be a great time to tie up loose ends, clear out project debris, and receive 2022 with renewed commitment to annual projects, and surprise opportunities for program growth.
