In this new year we hope for the best for you. 2022 has come with a lot of changes and opportunities, our mission and our work has developed with time as well. In the first months of 2022 we visited La Guajira to monitor the project and make the necessary changes. We have seen that the mochila production has helped a lot on the development of the community, however we are hoping to start a new chapter on the communities history. In the present world commerce has moved to the online world, therefore we are planning new courses on entrepreneurship of handicrafts as an addition to our mochila making training. It is very important that the leaders and the community learn how to create an independent product for the future generations.
In addition, we partnered with WayuuMarket, an online platform that helps sell the mochilas. We have found that this is the most effective and efficient way we can help the community to receive the revenue for their hard work. In addition, WayuuMarket works directly on the territory, therefore it is easier to move the merchandise from the community rancheria to the buyers hands.
Finally, we are moving toward more independent communities, as we told you some reports ago we started an agricultural part of the project and we finally got to see the results. Every community now has a vegetable pot to cultivate their food and they are achieving little by little food security. We hope our best to continue this project in 2022 with the help of our sponsors.
