Through our programs Better Life and CODAMO we seek the personal improvement of the human being. That is why we constantly offer individual consultations and group workshops on different topics of development and growth. For example, in May we had a face-to-face workshop "Getting to know me through movement", on Dance Movement Therapy and the virtual workshop "Am I more productive while listening to music?", on Music Therapy. In June we successfully completed our first cycle of Music Therapy workshops for children.
We continue to offer psychological and counseling services for individuals and families. Our Professional Counselor has been guiding young graduates in the process of choosing the profession or university career that best suits their qualities and future plans. During the month of May, our Counselor participated in the Congress on Persons with Disabilities "For inclusion, education and equality", sponsored by the office of the Office of the Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities of the Government of Puerto Rico. There, she was able to catch up with new strategies to serve the population with disabilities.
In July we celebrated with great enthusiasm the 1st Meeting of Women. A group of 25 women of different ages and backgrounds gathered at Casa sin Fronteras for a day of empowerment, fun and self-listening with workshops of Dance-Movement Therapy, Art Therapy and Music Therapy. Letting creativity flow, they were able to connect with their inner self, and with nature. We hope to be able to repeat this enriching experience very soon.
Also in July, Casa sin Fronteras, invited by the Missionary Community of Villaregia, moved to San Juan de la Maguana in the Dominican Republic. Our Counselor Lariana García and the Dance/Movement therapist Hecbel Rodríguez, were working with children and adults through psycho-emotional well-being workshops. We appreciate the opportunity that the Jinova region gave us to reach out to their communities.
From August to September we started a new cycle of the Estima Workshops for Women, in virtual mode. We are working on the topics of personal discovery, communication, emotional intelligence, and anxiety and stress management to help improve self-esteem. To keep a balance, we continue to offer our services, both virtually and in person. This way we can reach more people.
