Empower mental/emotional wellbeing in Puerto Rico

Lo que más nos apasiona en Casa sin Fronteras es trabajar directamente con la gente. Poder brindarles esperanza y alegría. En mayo terminamos un ciclo de Musicoterapia en la Escuela Elemental de Garrochales, Arecibo.  Durante varios meses nuestra Musicoterapeuta estuvo visitando a los niños de 4to y 5to grado para realizar actividades terapéuticas centradas en el ritmo y la música.  El gozo y capacidad de los niños por aprender y expresar lo que tienen en su interior nos llena de mucha esperanza. 

En el mes de junio fuimos invitados a dar un taller de Musicoterapia en el Hogar de Niños Santa Teresita en Arecibo.  En esta ocasión nos encontramos con las cuidadoras de los niños para un día de respiro y manejo de emociones.  Sabemos que el rol de cuidadora es uno de mucho estrés, por eso fue un privilegio poder brindarles un espacio de relajación, apertura y diálogo utilizando la música como vehículo de conexión.

Luego de un mes de vacaciones en julio, empezamos el semestre en agosto con un taller de Arteterapia para los niños y familias de la Alianza de Autismo en el Parque García en Arecibo.  Rodeados de la naturaleza y dirigidos por nuestra Arte Terapeuta logramos integrar a los niños y sus familiares en una experiencia sensorial y terapéutica a la vez.

Ahora en agosto hemos reanudado las citas con la sicóloga y con la consejera profesional. Para sacar una cita se pueden comunicar con nuestra oficina. 

Seguimos adelante con nuevos proyectos, llenos de entusiasmo y esperanza.

What we are most passionate about at Casa sin Fronteras is working directly with people. To be able to give them hope and joy. In May we finished a cycle of Music Therapy at the Elementary School of Garrochales, Arecibo.  For several months our Music Therapist was visiting the 4th and 5th grade children to carry out therapeutic activities focused on rhythm and music.  The joy and ability of children to learn and express what they have inside them fills us with great hope. 

In June we were invited to give a Music Therapy workshop at the Santa Teresita Children's Home in Arecibo.  On this occasion we met with the children's caregivers for a day of respite and management of emotions.  We know that the role of caregiver is one of great stress, so it was a privilege to be able to provide them with a space for relaxation, openness and dialogue using music as a vehicle for connection.

After a month-long vacation in July, we started the semester in August with an Art Therapy workshop for the children and families of the Autism Alliance at Garcia Park in Arecibo.  Surrounded by nature and led by our Art Therapist, we managed to integrate children and their families in a sensory and therapeutic experience at the same time.

Now in August we have resumed appointments with the psychologist and with the professional counselor. To make an appointment you can contact our office.
