Since launching the Ikemele women empowerment program (meaning "to rise up") in January 2021, we saw 31 women complete the program and graduate and helped 6 successful small businesses launch. We held over 115 hours of counseling, distributed 296 food parcels, and motivated 15 women to continue their studies to improve the outlook of their future. We rounded off 2021 with a lively graduation cermeony and a Christmas party.
These successes are thanks to YOU - our faithful supporters of this very special and crucial program. Thank you for trusting us to do this work!
2022 has kicked off with a bang as we welcome 10 women into the program. This, too, is made possible by your donations and a generous donation from a longstanding partner of ours, Rays of Hope - a foundation based in Frankfurt, Germany. For the next 6 months, these women who have bravely survived domestic abuse, will receive weekly group counselling, one-on-one counselling, life skills, a technical skill course, social relief and small business assistance.
