Soar Girls in Syria Are Finding Their Voice

By Iman Zaoin | Communication & Development Coordinator

Dear Friends,

Thank you for standing with us in our mission to empower displaced and at-risk Syrian girls. Your support is making a real difference, helping girls build confidence, reclaim their voices, and shape stronger futures for themselves and their families.

Our signature empowerment curriculum, Project Soar in a Bag, guides girls through five key modules: Value, Voice, Body, Rights, and Path. Each module is designed to equip girls with the tools they need to build a confident, informed, and purposeful life. Today, we’re proud to share highlights from Module 2: Voice - a critical step in helping girls speak up, advocate for themselves, and own their future.

As our Soar Girls in Syria completed this module, many expressed a profound shift in their confidence and self-worth. Here’s what they had to say:

“I've learned how to be confident and ensure my voice is clear so I can express my ideas, claim my rights, and stand strong. I speak clearly, and my thoughts and words are direct and powerful.”

— Nour, 14

“I've learned to defend myself with my voice. I will speak confidently with my friends and my community, without hesitation or fear. I've also learned how to stand tall and strong in front of others.”

— Qamar, 14

“I've learned to trust myself and the strength of my character. I have a voice and an opinion, and I know that a girl can speak, debate, and stand in front of an audience with confidence.”

— Soubhiya, 16

These voices inspire us every day and reaffirm the importance of our work. They also remind us that real change is possible, especially when we have the unwavering support of allies like you. Together, we can continue reaching more girls across Syria, giving them the opportunity to rewrite their futures with courage and purpose.

With gratitude,

The Project Soar Team
