Hello,
I still get taken back everytime I walk around the communities in India, children on the street asking for a pen so they can go to school and learn rather than asking for food or money. This is a culture where they know they can fight the poverty cycle themselves through education.
It's such a great thing to see a community trying to help themselves, while this isn't everyone it is one of the only countries I have seen this sort of determination from children within a community and that is why I had to get involved with this project.
It's such a simple thing, providing stationery for the children, funding a hot meal as it is proven children learn and retain information if they are not hungry. Therefore these are the top two priorities for our project and any additional donations we get we use to help fund school text books, reading books and art supplies.
We had some lovely donations over the past 3 months and these are now in India and have already purchased stationery for 2 out of the 15 schools we support, thank you to everyone that made this possible!
Thank you,
