BOKAMOSO LIFE CENTRE
MARCH 2022 REPORT
The Bokamoso Life Centre continues to grow, both in its programs, visibility and reputation in and around Winterveldt and beyond.
Continued efforts to establish important collaborations and partnerships is an ongoing and continually successful process. Recently the National Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and Recreation and Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) has registered Bokamoso in their database.
Progress since our last filed report
1. REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT

2. COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS

Four follow up sessions will take place in 2022, the first was held on Thursday, 17 March 2022.
PEETS Training for Emerging Farmers in Winterveldt:
The University of Johannesburg conducted training on The Green Economy and Sustainable Agriculture at Bokamoso. Bokamoso youth and members of the community attended the workshop. Discussion and training focused on the modern technology of farming and sustainable growth in South Africa. This was a follow up to the training received on June 10, 2021 on Bio-gas. Certificates were awarded to participants completing this training in 2021, and will also be awarded in 2022.
University of Pretoria (UP):
Mr Rirhandzu Golele, a Recruitment Director at UP, who specializes in career related matters, career advice, career assessment, and skills related career programs, shared information with Bokamoso youth about different institutions and admission requirements and NSFAS processes.
Mr Rirhandzu will continue to work with Bokamoso youth to assess their career choices, and conduct one-on-one sessions and career counselling.
Save the World Foundation held a workshop for Bokamoso youth on bullying, teenage suicide, GBV and substance abuse.
The Film and Publications Board conducted workshop on Internet Safety and Cyber Bullying at Power Of God Zion Church in Winterveldt. Twenty students from Bokamoso attended.
The workshop focused on the use of the internet and media, the dangers it can pose to users and the importance for youth to always “think before they post”. The message emphasized is that the improper use of social media can create an “Internet Footprint”, that could damage their future and their job prospects, if it's not used responsibly.
3. CURRENT CHALLENGES IN NEED OF SUPPORT:
The road leading into the Bokamoso Life Centre is in disrepair. This has been reported to the Municipal Department of Public Works, but it remains extraordinarily difficult to enter and exit the Centre.
The Centre has an immediate need for additional computers. Four out of the seven computers in the computer Centre are in disrepair and are in need of replacement.
