Project Soar is so thankful to You, our supporters! Each week, teen girls from 24 marginalized communities attend our headquarters for empowerment workshops, Girl Leaders Club meetings, and safe space. Your support helps to make this space more comfortable for the girls to continue developing their confidence and leadership and to become great chagemakers in Morocco.
This week, the girls completed the Body module and each now understands changes in her body, manages her menstruation efficiently, and values her own health and wellness. A Project Soar Girl knows her body! Next, they are moving on the the Rights module where each girl will embrace her right to an education and understand her right to be free from violence, sexual harassment, and early or forced marriage. It is imperative that girls know their rights in order to be able to properly advocate for themselves and those around them!
Along with empowerment workshops, Project Soar offers girls a safe, inviting place to hold their Girl Leaders Club meetings and activities, as well as for recreation and learning. Whether it be accessing the library, playing board games, using the tablets, or completing their schoolwork in a quiet place – girls are fully equipped with all the necessary materials to ensure their greatest success.
We are currently planning for the purchase of fans to help regulate the temperature in the classrooms. Spring arrived early and the afternoons are heating up, so these will help make the girls more comfortable while in their activities.
Stay tuned for more news from Project Soar and the activities led by the Girl Leaders Club in honor of International Women’s Day!
