Marianne Foundation Spring 2021 Report
By Justus Ahimbisibwe | Executive Director, Marianne Foundation
Our Spring 2021 report is attached!
Since its inception, the project has brought a total of 10 girls into a skilling program at Marianne Skills Center in western Uganda. The project was funded through GlobalGiving 2020 Accelerator. After the accelerator, Marianne Foundation was approved to be a partner at GlobalGiving. The project aims at skilling girls and providing 2000 reusable menstrual towels to refugee girls and women in vulnerable situations within the refugee communities of Rwamwanja Refugee settlement in western Uganda.
We have a few future asks, as you all continue to partner with us and with the girls in Uganda:
- To anyone who is in the position to help, kindly partner with us to achieve our 2021 dream of the construction of a health center to reduce maternal death in rural Uganda: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/mariannehealthcenter/
- Support the retooling of our skills center to enable us do industrial production of crafts and pads with a purpose of creating jobs for 20 young refugees
- We have reached a time of making our biggest recruitment!
- We need our adolescent program coordinator and our executive director fully employed and paid living wages - we appeal for 12,000 USD to enable us employ both the executive director and adolescent program coordinator for 2 years.
Contact Clare Killian at clare.killian2@gmail.com if you have any questions or need clarification! We look forward to continue working with our partners and GlobalGiving.

Marianne Foundation 2020 Report
By Ahimbisibwe Justus and Clare Killian | Directors
Our full report for activities completed in 2020 is attached! In the report, we outline all of the incredible work being done in western Uganda with girls and women in regards to menstrual health equity and accessibility. We sincerely are grateful for our donors, partners, and friends for spreading the word and sharing the story of gender equity and justice. We have also included in the report future goals and aspirations in order to share with our community our goals as well as financial needs for the upcoming projects. We hope to continue to gain support and partnership through this next year and again, we are extremely grateful for all the work that has been done thus far.
A menstrual period should never be a barrier to success for a young person and it is critical for communities to be involved in empowering each other towards a safe and secure future for all women and girls.
