Project Report | Dec 31, 2021
Wrapping up a difficult but fruitful year

By Marian Olavarria | International Outreach

Dear donors,

Finally, during the last quarter of the year, on-site classes began in Venezuela, despite the fact that the difficulties due to the pandemic and the precarious conditions of many schools in terms of basic services have not yet been overcome. However, as we indicated in our previous reports, these situations have not been an impediment to continue serving the children of Sabaneta, El Consejo, Aragua State and to achieve their empowerment to succeed, always counting on the generous contributions received from you during this year that is coming to an end.

Our commitment to the schools UEN Manuela Perdomo Almeida, UEP La Gracia de Dios, UEE Alfredo Almeida, and UEN Creación Calle Páez, with students in Elementary and High School, continued during the last months of the year, thanks to the constant work of the teachers who were trained during the months of July and August in the Alive to the World program by our academic staff. Our base team in Caracas together with the coordination team in Sabaneta continued to send weekly, in digital format through smartphones, the lessons, and activities they had to do with their students.

Nevertheless, our greatest reward is to see how the students received the Alive to the World books with enthusiasm and show interest in putting into practice the lessons learned about values, not only at school but also at home. Let's remember that these are children and young people who attend schools located in a low-income area, but who have every interest in getting out of the circle of poverty and designing a successful life project.

But our work was not limited to the four schools mentioned above, because we continued training new teachers (approximately 40 teachers) for new schools that will soon be incorporated into the program. Our work does not stop, because we believe in the education of children and young people as the way out of poverty and give Venezuela hope for a prosperous future.

Once again we want to say a big thank you for your continued and generous support for the education of children in Venezuela! We will always be grateful on behalf of our children and youth! We also reiterate our thanks to the GlobalGiving team for their particular attention to the problems in Venezuela. Our hope for a better future for our young people is stronger every day, convinced that it is through education that we can achieve it.

From the Alive to the World team, we would like to wish all of you, our generous and consistent donors, the year 2022 full of achievements and fulfilled illusions, and that will allow us to achieve the peace that the world needs so much. Happy New Year 2022!
