Hi Friends-
I'm thrilled to tell you about our latest activation #EQDay on June 6.
This day celebrates and raises global awareness for emotional intelligence. It was originally a project by the Six Seconds’ team in China. They chose June 6 (sixth month, sixth day of the year) to celebrate Six Seconds and activate all of the Six Seconds certified network. Once they shared this idea with our team we wanted to make it even bigger! Rather than just focus on our organization– we wanted to raise awareness for all people practicing emotional intelligence and the need for more EQ in our families, workplaces and communities.
Our theme for #EQDay was “like bees to flowers” let’s share EQ around the world.” We created honey bee art and got “buzzy” spreading the news. We wanted people to SHOW the impact learning about EQ has made on their lives. We asked participants to post something (art, testimonial, messages, videos) to share what practicing EQ looks like in their lives. This is a small way to answer “What would the world look like if 1 Billion people were practicing EQ?”
The #EQDay activation was a success with posts on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and website. #EQDay posts reached over 300k views and we’re excited about making June 6 a regular celebration in our community. Our POP-UP team and shared a post and share it in 11 languages.
We’re also excited about taking the next steps with our Climate of Emotions (COE) activation in the fall at Climate Week NYC. We are working with partners to implement a half day program for youth teaching emotional intelligence skills to help support them in their activism. Lots of plans and logistics to sort out for the project– we hope you continue to support the project as we grow!
With gratitude-
Patty
