CNCDRR China cooperated with Beijing Normal University Risk Management and Innovation Research Center to participate in the HDI Global online Academy project as a supporting institution. CNCDRR China acts as an academic platform for the course learning of Chinese NGOs and a social practice partner of the course, relying on the online course to enhance disaster relief action of NGOs in China.
HDI Global online Academy project initially launched on June 30, 2020. The course is divided into three modules and was almost all in English. CNCDRR China, together with Beijing Normal University Risk Management and Innovation Research Center, plans to localize the English course into Chinese version, recruit the Chinese NGOs with disaster relief mission and provide support for them to complete the online courses.
The online courses aim at the staff of core institutions in the field of disaster relief, the representatives of important front-line partners, and the heads of institutions who have just incorporated emergency response and public health into the long-term development strategy of their institutions.
CNCDRR China has completed the localization of the first module of the online course by 8th of Jan.2021. It is planned to officially launch the first training course of learning network with Beijing Normal University and International Academy of Red Cross & Red Crescent in mid January 2021, recruiting about 30 trainees, and starting the second training course immediately after the graduation of the first one. The training course plans to have monthly workshop and assessment mechanism, and the tutors invited will provide the on-line support. After completion of the online-course and passing the assessment, the trainees will be awarded with the certificate in the end.
