Hagamos Más Por Santa Rosalía is a community foundation focused on supporting and strengthening local communitiesthroughout the municipio of Mulegé in norther Baja California Sur, México. This local foundation is funded by acombination of local and foreign donations. It is one of the few small foundations in México authorized to issuecertificatesof taxdeductibledonations.

The foundation is currently working closely with the USbased “Ecologists Without Borders” on sustainable fisheriesefforts.Support of sustainable fisheries comes through identifying and promoting the use of national and internationalbest practices, with the objective of substantial improvement in health of the marine environment and the health andwellbeing of local coastal fishermen, as well as the same for those who depend on them and their products.Achievingthese objectives is in the hands of the fishermen themselves using a "bottom up" approach, with both FHMSR andEcoWBfacilitatingandsupporting the efforts.

Monitoring personnel were trained in the use of a fishing data application provided by COBI called Pescadata. Catch and effort monitoring continued by trained members of the fishing community, adding to the total of monitoring effort. As of the end of the month, 3,252 individual fish have been weighed and measured as part of the program and the information added to a spreadsheet. Scuba diving was employed for submarine monitoring; with 16 species identified along with measurement of salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen
