Significant Milestone Approaching

By Ernesto Rodriguez | Executive Director

Thjis year began on the heels of CBS News and CNN declaring that their stories on Nature In The Classroom were their most positvive stories of 2024.  With tree ceiings being installed in Indiana, Kentucky and Washington.  The feedback continues to reflect the science on which our project is based.  The science of Attention Restoration Theory, developed at the University of Michigan shows, when we view images of trees, it calms us and helps us focus.  Tree ceilings are now installed in California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah and Washington.  Serving 17 school districts and 8,000 students.

Of parrticular importance were the ceilings installed in a juvenile correction facility in Indiana.  The school for children that are incarcerated has no windows.  I received an email from the director of the school, six weeks after the ceilings were installed, saying he has seen a significant drop in behavioral issues.  The judge who overseas the school wrote an incredible article.  See the link below.  Knowing how the ceilings are helping teachers and students is what fuels me.

As we approach mid year we are comig up on a significant milestone.  We will be installing ceilings in the Marysville School District in Central Califonia nexrt week.  It is bringing us closer to serving 10,000 children.  Your early support is what paved the way towards this milestone.  For that I remain eternally grateful, thank you for helping this come to life to support of teachers and students.
