Winter 2021 - Equine Therapy Scholarship Update

By David Plath | Development Director

This week marks the beginning of our 10-week Winter session. We continue to follow all COVID-19 protocolls and precautions to ensure the safety of our participants, volunteers and staff. Due to the continued rise in cases here in South Florida, our mounted program continues with those participants that can mount themselves without assistance. Others may a family member that has been trained assist them during class, or they will take part in our unmounted Equine-Facilitated Learning program.

This year, 43 of our participants requested financial assistance through the Scholarship program. Your donation to the Scholarship Fund through GlobalGiving has allowed us to offer 7 individuals with special needs scholarships for the entire year. Those awarded will each receive 30 weeks of lessons as part of the Therapeutic Riding or Equine-Facilitated Learning programs.

We are deeply appreciative of your gift that brings the magic of the horse into the lives of children and adults with special needs. To continue your giving, please consider signing up for a recurring donation. Even $10 a month can make a difference in the life of a child with special needs.

If you would like to receive our monthly e-newsletter, please email david@equineatsf.org.

Thank you,

David Plath, Development Director
