There is conflict in north-central Nigeria and more than 300 000 people fled the area to Benue State, Nigeria where they languish in refugee camps. Our goal was to make a difference in the lives of displaced children whose parents were killed. We provide the children with basic necessities, education, and counseling from caregivers, teachers, and counselors. There is a marked difference in their once tired-looking, unsmiling faces. Now they are smiling and lively because they have been given an opportunity to thrive and become part of a larger solution for their community. We want to ensure they have a future.
