Fighting for LGBTQ+ Rights in Africa

Project Report | Feb 9, 2022
Overcoming negative stigma around LGBTQ!

By Shayle Havemann | Project leader

Introduction

In many countries in Africa, being part and supporting the LGBTQ community means living with discrimination on a daily basis. Being denied the rights to express one's identity, facing name-calling, bullying, as well as being denied access to job opportunities, education and healthcare services. Due to the illegality of LGBTQ expression, there is no help from the government which is why many people are afraid to speak up to get LGBTQ rights and end homophobia.

Report

We have managed to raise $4000 so far and will be onboarding a new partner in the next quarter to provide education and services to a local community.

Thank you for your support
