Project Report | Dec 11, 2024
We've Held 4 of 6 Planned Workshops

By Team Bumi Sehat | Project Leaders

Bumi Sehat's plan is to run a series of 6 workshops with professional trainers and Bumi staff educating 100 local women on health and finance issues. These include financial, physical health and mental health issues. We want to make sure that local women are aware of resources or lifestyle changes which can help with mental health issues, diabetes and aging. We want them to feel safe and trusting to approach relevant staff if they have any questions or problems about these issues in the future.

So far, we've run four of six planned workshops.

Bumi Sehat hosted a mental health talk on post-partum depression (PPD) in April and attended by about 30 participants. A psychiatrist from Ubud Care Clinic talked about the difference between baby-blues and PPD and stayed after to answer questions. The presentation led to an MOU between Ubud Care and Bumi Sehat to deliver future mental health talks.

Bumi Sehat held two outreach workshops for our cryo-therapy "See and Treat" program for detecting cervical cancer early when it can still be easily treated. These took place in Singakerta, a nearby village of about 1000 people, in March and August.

We hosted a World Breastfeeding Week seminar on August 7th with the theme "Positive Support for Exclusive Breastfeeding Success." The seminar was attended by 30 participants, including expectant and new mothers, who actively engaged in the discussion. The talk was followed by a supportive and interactive Women’s Circle and meditation session.

We still plan to hold a workshop on financial skills, as well as one on registering for the national insurance scheme, BPJS. We also plan to offer a workshop on living with diabetes.

Thanks for your continued support of this project.

Love & Blessings,

Ibu Robin and Team Bumi Sehat
