The wife of Uzor and his 5 years daughter sustained fire injuries on 28th June 2020 following the outbreak of fire on their 1 Bedroom Apartment, as they had purchased some kerosene mixed with fuel for cooking. The bad incident badly affected a pregnant mother, 5 years old daughter, and a nine-month-old baby in the womb.
Speaking at the visit, Mrs. Tamunoene described RUWAI as a non-profit organization to strengthen the resilience of poor and marginalized rural communities whose lives and livelihood are been threatened due to degradation of their natural resources, climate change, and social exclusion. The Uzor family was captured under the RUWAI Covid-19 Relief and Economic Recovery program, due to their poor economic and social background. So far, under the program, the victims have benefitted from the Healthcare support, which helped them get treated from the severe burns they had, from the domestic fire accident, in addition to the ongoing building of a three-bedroom apartment for the vulnerable while providing them with foods, schools fees for kids, healthcare and income-generating skills, on monthly basis.
Thank you, our worthy partners and supporters for making this a reality. Let's continue to show our love to the helpless. Our campaign to complete a three-bedroom apartment for the family is on, help us share.
