After two years of construction and in the midst of the pandemic, Casa Familia Foundation inaugurated "Casa de Luz", the first pediatric hospice in South America, located in Santiago de Chile.
The opening day was characterized by the intense rain, but mainly by an atmosphere of emotion, joy and pride, which was highlighted by all the authorities present at the event.
Casa de Luz will welcome oncological and non-oncological children who are in the final stage of their lives, together with their families, where they will receive quality palliative care, full of love, affection and compassion. A unique care model in the world, which is the result of collaborative work led by the Casa Familia Foundation, which has been advised by an expert Voluntary Technical Commission and by the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Chile Foundation, internationally renowned in the matter.
