“Whispers of Wonder: A Tale from Hamara Kutub Khana”

Introduction: Planting Seeds of Imagination

In the heart of Sindh, where stories bloom and children’s laughter echoes through dusty schoolyards, Hamara Kutab Khana has continued to serve as a sanctuary of imagination, learning, and community. From Kalti Village to Asif Colong, our mobile library initiative has reached 8 vibrant communities, nurturing over 2,600 children through books, art, storytelling, and creative classroom practices.

Library & Learning Highlights

1. Literacy in Action – Weekly Library Sessions

From FAS Shaikh Muhallah to NEWFAS Tando Thatti, weekly library sessions inspired curiosity and joy. January welcomed “Dettol Day” and community meetings, while February centered on storytelling with themes like Kindness, Bravery, and Belonging.

“We made a monkey from playdough, I named mine ‘Masoom!’” – Ayesha, Class 2

2. Classroom Creativity – Learning Through Play

Themes such as Earth Orbit and About My Day were brought alive through art, storytelling, and sensory exploration. Playdough donuts and “magic box” activities strengthened cognitive and motor skills across ECCE and primary grades.

“When I draw the Earth and Sun, I feel like a scientist!” – Saad, Class 1

3. Celebrations & Community Joy

February and March saw community-led Eid Milan celebrations and cricket matches that not only bonded students but also encouraged parents to participate in their children’s learning journey.

“Baba cheered when I caught the ball. He said he’ll come again.” – Ali, Class 3

Teacher Development: Building Capacity

With a focus on sustainable impact, our one-day teacher training on the “4AS Lesson Planning Model” equipped educators with tools for engaging lessons. The training encouraged integration of literacy, creativity, and well-being.

Looking Ahead: A Calendar of Hope

  • New Session Begins: April 7, 2025
  • Admissions Open: April 15–20, 2025
  • Summer Engagement: Introducing art kits and book bags to all 8 villages

A Word to Our Donors:

Dear Friends and Changemakers,

Through your generous support, these communities are now reading, imagining, and celebrating learning. What was once a quiet classroom is now filled with songs, stories, and laughter. Your contribution has sparked a movement—a poetic unfolding of wonder in the lives of thousands.

“Where words bring light, the wings of dreams begin to grow.”

We invite you to walk this journey with us, as we continue to plant books and bloom futures across Sindh.

Warmest regards,
Team Hamara Kutab Khana
