Project Report | Sep 9, 2019
"When I finish school, I want to be a doctor."

By Kara VanderKamp | Director, Remember Niger Coalition

Your gift of scholarships to secondary school girls in Niger goes beyond tuition and fees. Your support builds confidence and dreams within these young women as they learn their value and potential through education. I hope you enjoy learning about Binta, who receives a scholarship from the Remember Niger Coalition. I will be going to Niger in October and I look forward to keeping you updated on the difference you are making in the lives of Binta and her classmates. Thank you for your important, life-changing gift.

Binta enjoys being a student and says that it has inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. However, before the opportunity to attend secondary school, continuing her education wasn’t a possibility. Binta’s family lives in a remote area outside of the city. Without access to free, reliable transportation, Binta had no way of commuting to and from school. Because of your support, her tuition is covered and she also receives free transportation to school. Thanks to you, Binta was able to return to school full-time. Binta says that she, “loves school and my studies. When I finish school I want to be a doctor.”

With gratitude,

Kara
