Dear friends,

Thank you for giving girls in Niger the opportunity to attend secondary school. You are making a tremendous difference in their lives!

The girls and young women who receive scholarships through the Remember Niger Coalition Girls Scholarship Fund would not be able to go to school without your generosity. I wanted to share with you these heartfelt words written by one of our scholarship recipients. Her name is Mariama and she attends the Zinder school. Your support is truly changing lives, which Mariama expresses well in her letter:

Hello, to you my sponsor. It is with great joy full of love that I write you this little letter in which I summarize for you my life as an African. I am Mariama but most people call me Mari. I am in ninth grade at school. I’ve gone to this school since kindergarten. I live with my family. Each morning mom gets up to make breakfast: corn cake, tea, sometimes some really good moringa, called “copto.” Here in Africa, any girl who doesn’t go to school will find herself out in the street, selling onions and bread that she has to make, or else forced into marriage. Thanks to you, we have escaped that life full of difficulty. I do my best at school. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your gifts that are helping Mari and many others to reach their full potential because they are receiving a quality education.

With gratitude,

Kara
