At Freedom to Learn we love being able to share with our generous supporters what we have been up to, and a large part of that is our aim to ensure that school is a positive and fun experience for all our students. Because of FtL and the generous support you give, they enjoy quality lessons taught by our skilled and trained teachers in a wide variety of subjects including of course English, Maths and Science but make sure that they are learned in a creative, exciting and relevant way.
This term students have also taken part in a wide range of exciting extra-curricular activities. These activities aim to build the students confidence in areas they may not have otherwise experience - as well as enabling the students to form strong friendships with their classmates and happy memories at school. For example we had a brilliant time holding a singing contest at Balchandra school earlier this week. Students who wished to enter chose the song they wished to sing and students, teachers and parents were all invited to watch and support the singers, everyone sang their hearts out alongside the performers! There was lots of dancing, clapping and smiling faces. After such a successful event we hope to be able to host more events like this and encourage our students to try new skills such as performing in front of people.
We are delighted that our students are taking full advantage of the football kit which were generously donated my Milford Football Club. Students are always keen to take part in tournaments at school and are keen to improve their football skills. The sense of pride the students have when wearing their football kit is wonderful. The rest of the school enjoy cheering on the players.
As Christmas is drawing closer we are preparing for the local Christmas markets. We will be selling some beautiful gifts from India and Nepal. Keep an eye open on our Facebook page to see what markets we will be attending. We also are selling our tea towels and gift cards which are available to purchase on our website.
