Girls work hard but very often are not acknowledged for it.
Boys in Pakistani families are supposed to focus on books and girls on beauty. Boys are rewarded and praised for grades. Girls get compliments when they are in pretty dresses and say sweet things.
Yes, even in 2019, there is a huge disparity.
We want to change that. When a girl gets an A or tops the class, we want her to know only know she is appreciated and special, but to have a symbol for that. So, we want to gift universities gold medals for these top performing girls.
