With your support, Rebuilding Alliance has been able to assist families in Gaza. To everyone who has supported our work, we thank you. Your kindness and generosity have made it possible for us to be a lifeline during the darkest of times.
After the ceasefire, over one million Palestinians returned to their hometowns in Gaza, families were shocked at the level of destruction. Our CBO partners in Gaza informed us that most of the infrastructure has been reduced to rubble, leaving residents without shelter, electricity, water, or sanitation. The destruction left behind means families need immediate support and long-term rebuilding efforts. Your continued support allows our CBO partners in Gaza to continue to support Gaza families in this time of great need.
As families returned to their homes (or what was left of their homes) and neighborhoods, our kitchens relocated to provide meals to families. Several kitchens shifted north to accommodate the population relocating to Gaza City. Our CBO partner in the North, Youth Vision Society (YVS) increased its caseload at least two-fold after their kitchens received extra pots and pans and a hefty delivery of commodities from the World Food Programme. Al Basma Club for the Disabled also moved operations to the north.
We have an important update: RA's contract with the World Food Program came to an end on February 28th.
The need has not changed. We ask your help to serve hot meals each day in the very North (Beit Lahia), Middle (Deir Al Balah and Khan Younis), and South (Rafah) to Palestinian families in need. Rebuilding Alliance continues to serve 30,000 hot meals a day with the help of its three CBO partners in Gaza.
When the borders opened and supplies became available, our teams in Gaza were able to procure more vegetables and meat to provide much-needed nourishment to families. Families in Gaza were eager to diversify their diets.
To address the shortage of clean water, Rebuilding Alliance came up with a solution to pump water out of existing wells in Beit Lahia, using a single mobile generator. This emergency response granted clean water access to 400 families in need. We continue to pump water from these wells and we are committed to restoring hope and stability to these communities. Beit Lahia has good drinking water aquifers; however, until we conduct tests on the water, it is only being used for essential needs. This approach helps families manage their daily requirements until we confirm that the water is safe for drinking.
Thank you for supporting this life-saving work. We are committed to restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and bringing stability to Palestinian communities with your support.
