Thanks to your support and the one from the Rodrigo Arroyave Foundation, between June and November of this year, we have implemented the Knowledge Lab project designed for children with poor academic performance or outside the education system. A total of 30 children benefited, divided into two groups:
Group 1: 18 children from El Cedro, with low academic performance. Result: 11 of them passed the year, 3 require further evaluation and personalized attention to understand and address their learning difficulties, and for 4, follow-up needs to be done with their families to encourage school attendance.
Group 2: 12 children out of school, from the community neighboring CorpoAyapel (IDEMA). Result: 3 have already enrolled in school, and it is expected that the rest will also do so as they are motivated and eager to study. CorpoAyapel will be monitoring this registration and school enrollment.
All confirm that they are more motivated to study, have improved their self-esteem, behavior, and mood. Additionally, they now have better foundations in attention, memory, visual and auditory perception, mathematical logical reasoning, visuomotor coordination, reading-writing, and reading comprehension.
Finally, teachers, school principals, and parents are very satisfied with the results. We hope to have your support to continue this socially impactful initiative.
