Dear Friend of Guardians of Rescue,
With the "New Year" already rushing by, we are back to give you a look at what has been going on—with your help—since we last wrote to you.
We call our project here "Getting Dogs Off Chains", but we could just as well call it "Helping Animals in Every Way We Can".
Under this "Chains" umbrella are included, along with many other services, supplying food, beds and other supplies to dogs and cats in need, and distributing insulated shelters for outside community cat colonies. When the cold weather hits, these needs rise as the temperature falls.
With so many needs to fill for animals, food (and water, of course!) is at the top. When communities find it hard to afford all they need to keep their pets full and nourished, Guardians and our Outreach Partners load up and head out to deliver pet food and other supplies to deserving dogs, cats and other animals.
Recently, the recipients of these life-sustaining supplies were members of the Shinnecock Indian Nation and their pets, in Suffolk County, New York.
We wish you could be there on the truck as it rolls up to the waves of welcome and the smiles on the faces of folks whose concerns about feeding their beloved animal friends are relieved for a while. You'd know without a doubt how much your support of Guardians' programs means to people and pets in need, and with your continued help, we'll be back when they need more.
And, as always in the cold winter months, Guardians built and installed as many insulated cat shelters as possible for cold outdoor community cats, to help get them through the extreme cold which otherwise would bring them misery—or worse. You can feel very good that because of you, many cats are now cozy at night instead of huddled and shivering.
We never forget who makes it possible for all these animals to be well-fed and warm, and that's why we always say...
Together we save them,
All our thanks,
Guardians of Rescue
