With your generous support, Elena’s Light successfully hosted a Driving Education and Permit Testing Prep Course this spring for 13 refugee women. Participants received guided instruction on Connecticut traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices—all in a culturally supportive environment. This marks an important first step toward learning how to drive in the U.S.
For many refugee women, gaining a driver’s license is a vital step toward independence. It provides access to employment, healthcare, education, and other essential resources. Thanks to your donations, these 13 women are now equipped with the knowledge and confidence to take the written permit test and take meaningful steps toward greater self-sufficiency. Thank you for making this possible.
