Dear Friends,
It’s been a little while since we last connected, but something extraordinary is happening—and it’s all because of you.
Your support of the Community Assistance Program has empowered local organizations to thrive. Now, that impact is blossoming in the transformed lives of remarkable women.
Six grandmothers are rewriting their stories. In a small kitchen, they’re baking bread with care and confidence, rediscovering pride and joy.
These women, some in their 70s and some who never learned to read, are the anchors of large families. They once survived on meager earnings, much like the struggling nonprofits you helped through CAP. Now, they’re part of D’ellas CREADORAS, a new project at Hearts of Gold, and they’re doing more than baking bread—they’re building a future.
D’ellas CREADORAS, like CAP, is about empowerment. It’s about providing vulnerable members of our community with the tools to build a better future. These grandmothers are receiving training, mentorship, and support to launch a successful social enterprise.
What happened next was remarkable.
They completed training. Their bread sold out, demand soared, and neighbors lined up. With only a small oven, they can barely keep up. Over 200 women are waiting to join.
“For the first time, I’m earning money doing something I enjoy,” says Cecelia, 68. “My grandchildren call me 'la panadera'.”
This is more than bread. It’s reclaimed dignity, rebuilt connection, and a testament to the resilience we've always championed together.
Your support made this possible. Your investment in CAP laid the groundwork for this new initiative.
In the next 12 months, we aim to train at least 30 more grandmothers, opening the door to real income, renewed hope and a chance to break the cycle of poverty for generations to come.
You’ve been part of this journey from the start — and we’d love for you to walk beside us as it continues.
Stay Involved. Keep Rising with Us:
Thank you — not just for what you’ve given in the past, but for believing in what’s still possible. Because of you, something beautiful is happening.
With deep gratitude,
María José Orellana
Fundación Corazones de Oro
P.S. We’d love to hear from you. Just reply and say hello — it’s been a while, and we’ve missed you. There’s so much more to come, and we’d love for you to walk beside us as this beautiful story continues to rise, one life-changing roll at a time.
