Hello friends,
We wanted to take some time to share an update with you about what’s been going on with the POP-UP festival Green 13 project over the last quarter.
Green 13 resources help children (and their adults) grow the capabilities for tapping into emotions for positive climate action -- and for better coping with climate grief & eco-anxiety. Green13 POP-UP kit, will support 5 million people to participate in climate action awareness activities to increase climate resilience for kids.
Green13 POP-UP kit is a collection of climate-focused POP-UP activities grounded in research, brain-based learning and fun. The content focuses on five key factors kids need to cope with climate grief:
In April we held a virtual conference “Climate of Emotions: Supporting Youth Wellbeing” (2.5k views) Check it out the livestream replay on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpkEW1CE7nI&t=974s
The Climate of Emotions Conference focused on bringing together leaders, activists and NGOs ready to talk about eco-anxiety and the critical moment for climate change. Participants learned about the role emotional intelligence skills can play in activating change through networks of community and effective leadership.
In addition, we created a second video “Emotions for the Climate: Pandemic lessons on engaging climate grief & purpose” to share the take-away message that we need to be more emotionally resilient in order to navigate emotions to take action on the climate crisis. We’d like to thank you for supporting us and look forward to a busy summer of creating Green 13 content for the 2020 POP-UP Festival.
Warmly,
Patty Freedman
