The rainy season is now upon us and bring much more rubbish into the rivers. The pictures we have attached below show the Nairobi River choked with plastic... This means the Chemolex team have been working hard removing plastic and rubbish from the rivers - and its thanks to your donations that makes this possible!
It’s not just this - the rains have flooded the new riverside community gardens that have been build and provide organic and nutritious vegetables to the people that live around. However, we are confident that they can withstand these rains and continue to support the surrounding communities!
Finally, there has been a new construction at the community gardens: a community bread oven! This burns all the non-plastic rubbish that is fished out of the river - think branches and paper etc and provides another new business in the community!
As always, its thanks to you this is able to happen,
Bernie
