Project Update - A New Beginning in Our New School

By Mariana Fischer | Hai Africa Founder

We’re so excited to share the latest updates from Hai Africa!

  1. Our Babies Are in Their New School!
On January 8th, we officially opened the doors of our brand-new school, and our 100 little ones — our "babies" — began their classes in this beautiful new space. This was a dream come true, built with love, dedication, and the support of people like you!

  2. A Powerful Start to the Year
Throughout February and March, our team was fully present at the Hai Centre. It was an incredible time filled with growth, connection, and lots of learning.

  3. Volunteers, Training & New Routine
We welcomed volunteers, trained new staff members, and established a full routine for 100 children in early childhood education. Our team embraced every challenge with heart and commitment.

  4. Sustainability in Action
We now have a compost system! Our team received training and is now enthusiastically composting — excited to start producing natural fertilizer for our garden.

  5. Play, Movement & Well-being
Our babies now have a beautiful grassy area to play freely, bringing even more joy to their school days. And our PP2 class (5–6-year-olds) has started yoga classes twice a week, promoting mindfulness and body awareness from an early age.

  6. Art for Expression
We hosted workshops in collage and analogue photography with our primary school teens, encouraging creative expression and building self-confidence.

  7. Empowering Women Through Employmen
Our “mamas” — local women supported by Hai and project tres— completed a 20-day training to become professional cleaners. This opens new opportunities for income and independence, and we are so proud of their dedication!

And last but not least… Hai Africa is turning 10!

What a joy it is to celebrate a decade of commitment, community, and transformation.

We hope this is just the beginning — may the next 10 years be even more impactful!

None of this would be possible without your support. Thank you for walking with us and believing in a future filled with education, dignity, and hope. The Hai Africa journey continues — and it’s more vibrant than ever!

With love and gratitude,

Hai Africa Team
